Re: Points when adding R, G, B frames.

Hello Serg, When you add a few frames only (with some rotation) sometimes some pixels are missed due to rounding effects. This will disappear if you add more images or you could check-mark the black spot filter. See screen shot. The dark spot filter is only available for mosaic and average stacking....

Re: Black level

Hello Serg, CCDstack and PI calls this extra value a "pedestal". I will make the change of astapX permanent and call this value pedastel. I will add it to the reporting and FITS header. Will finilize it tomorrow as ASTAP 0.9.120. Can you check if the astapX version works well for you? There are more...

Re: Black level

This file is blue filter. The sky dark. The milky way is clearly visible. Okay. I looked to some other stack programs. Could not find any setting to set an offset for this problem. So how did they solved this? Have you any experience with an other stacking program or an idea how they solved it? I c...

Re: Black level

Hello Serk,You files look normal to me. Gain is stable, temperature is equal. The only thing noticeable is that the light exposure didn't result in in a higher background. Looking to my own H-alpha images, the signal level is after 200 seconds about 100 above the background. So result is positive. S...

Re: Black level

Hello Serg, I have created a special version of ASTAP, called astapX.exe. In this version you can set an offset in the menu tab STACK METHOD. Near stacking method. This version I added to the following file: http://www.hnsky.org/astap.zip Try this version. I will check your files. For my files, the ...

Re: Black level

I was too quick. Yes your correct, the sum of the light offset and dark offset should be zero. You will need them only to keep the noise in the dark current and other noise positive. I will look into the code what I did. For most cases the light polution will generate enough signal to stay in the po...

Re: Black level

Hello Serg, I assume you have set in the viewer the minimum/maximum settings to medium, high or low. What are the pixel values if you move across the image. It should be capable to indicate negative values. If the dark is taken under the same conditions {exposure, temperature) as the light frame the...

Re: Linux HiDPI-Support

Just note that version HNSKY 4.0.0r has a bug in the selection of supplement 2. This has been fixed in 4.0.0s. Older versions then 4.0.0r are fine.

ASTAP v0.9.118

For users using ASTAP as an astrometric solver/plate solver:

Unfortunately ASTAP version 0.9.117 has a bug in reading the star database and has been replaced by 0.9.118.

ASTAP 0.9.116 as plate solver

I did several plate solving (or better astrometric solving) tests on public images available in Astrometry.net (http://nova.astrometry.net/explore) and ironed out some problems and released it as v0.9.116 ASTAP requires preferable raw images unstreched up to magnitude 17 (with G17) or 18 with the G1...
