Re: Using a mouse without a scroll-wheel

Hi Han, I'm an idiot! I've been here before and had already found the solution, but forgot! In fact I could have sworn that I had already discussed it with you. But I can't find any posts relating to it, so it must be a case of "de ja vue" ;) Anyway, the answer is the touchpad DOES hav...

Re: Using a mouse without a scroll-wheel

Hi Han, It works fine when I use a real mouse (which I do have). It's just that I don't often connect an external mouse to my Laptop; I just use it's mousepad and for some reason the Dell Inspiron 15 range doesn't provide the function on it's mousepad. I'll see if I can find an alternative solution....

Using a mouse without a scroll-wheel

Hi Han, Whilst playing with the Mosaic feature, I realised I couldn't rotate the Measuring Frame. This is because my Astro laptop's mousepad has no scroll-wheel function (my other Dell laptop does have this facility). Would it be possible for you to add a keyboard option for this function? Thanks, Jim

Re: HNSKY/APT Mosaic

Hi Han,

Thanks for that. I was so close, but couldn't quite get the sequence right! :)

I'll add my support to your suggestion to Ivo.

Cheers, Jim

HNSKY/APT Mosaic

Hi Han, I've not been in touch for a while. I hope you are keeping well? I have been working through your youtube video "Server Link APT and HNSKY", to create a Mosaic. I have successfully got most of the way through, however I can't work out how to display all the created panels at the same time. I...

Re: ASTAP FITS file

Hi Han,

Just a brief update.

Dustin has very kindly modified the nova.astrometry.net api to provide the image size in arcseconds.

I've now got my app producing an image Focal Length that is independent of pixel size.

Cheers, Jim

Re: ASTAP FITS file

Hi Han, Once again, thanks again for your thoughtful posts. :) If I followed your first post, then I think it came to the same as my initial conclusion. I agree completely with your second post. I don't know why I didn't think of it before, as I only mentioned in a post to someone a few days ago! :r...

Re: ASTAP FITS file

Hi Han, Once again, thanks for the quick and comprehensive explanation! :D I wondered if it was part of the resolution for the performance issue. I guess the answer for what I want to do is to build a multiplication factor into the calculation? i.e. focal_length = 206.264806 * pixel size / pixel sca...

ASTAP FITS file

Hi Han, I use the APT/ASTAP integration feature to produce a FIT file when APT does a Platesolve2. The process works brilliantly and doesn't seem to add any time to the solve process. However, there seems to be a difference between the construct of the original ImageToSolve.jpg file and the created ...
