Re: ASTAP general use

No this splitting in R, G,G, B is a special function only to be used if you image with a colour camera and using a H-alpha filter. Then you can throw away the green and blue channel and keep the red channel only. You stack then only the red channel files. For colour stacking, you just stack the raw ...

Re: Missing INI and WCS files

The .ini is always produced. The .wcs is only produced if a solution is found. You have to specify at least the -f parameter otherwise the program behaves like a viewer: To solve: c:\PROGRA~1\astap\astap.exe -f c:\temp\m13.fits As a viewer: c:\PROGRA~1\astap\astap.exe c:\temp\m13.fits Ask me again i...

Re: Missing INI and WCS files

Hello Charlie, That is strange. The .exe file and G17 files should be in one directory. The image file could be anywhere. The .ini and .wcs should be created at the same location as the image. I tested it again as follows: c:\PROGRA~1\astap\astap.exe -f c:\temp\m13.fits This results in a m13.ini fil...

Re: ASTAP general use

The function still works, but to see you have to set the sliders manual. I assume the background value is about 1000. If you set it too low even pure colours will get additional other colour. What I did for testing is to load the four images in the stack menu under tab images. Set the sliders to ran...

Re: ASTAP general use

I will have a look now. I have uploaded two test files my with my QHY8 camera at: https://ufile.io/m3j55wuv These are raw files. You can demosaic them to make colour or split the raw in p11, p12, p21, p22 . So twice green , red and blue. Maybe I didn't receive your posting by mail. I have to look to...

Re: ASTAP general use

The first 3 files look like they need something doing to them (debarring) but the 4th file looks a bit like the original. Is this what you would expect ? You have to set the sliders to manual, but I have clearly the impression these files are not split from a raw file but a file already containing ...

Re: ASTAP general use

Sorry I have missed your posts. Yes the files become half size. That is normal since you transfer a 2x2 pixel in 1 pixel.

Re: Astrometry: Looking for Pascal/Delphi functions

DEC {(epoch T)} := (DECU -90/360000 + pmDE * (epoch2 - 2000.0)/10.0)*((pi/180)/(3600*1000))-pi/2; {DEC first} RA {(epoch T)} := (RAU + pmRA / cos(dec)*(epoch2 - 2000.0)/10.0)*((pi/180)/(3600*1000)); DECU -90/360000 ... is the Dec value in degrees from the catalogue corrected with a constant value of...

Re: Astrometry: Looking for Pascal/Delphi functions

My program reports for that date, time and position an altitude of 11.1 degrees without any atmospheric refraction. The best is to check a few examples in one of the Meeus books. For planetary ephemerides you could use JPL https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/horizons.cgi?s_target=1#top
